Our travel insurance covers international travel and offers two geographical coverage areas.
- EU countries: This includes Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Turkey and the UK.
- Worldwide: This area covers all countries globally.
As standard, travel insurance covers private vacations and study trips of up to 1 month. If you plan to be away for a longer period of time, you can extend the coverage to include trips of up to 60 days. This requires you to purchase an extended travel period.
If you fall ill or are injured before departure, your cancellation insurance may cover the costs, provided it is an acute or serious illness or injury. Follow these steps: Contact your tour operator first to check the possibility of reimbursement. If the tour operator is unable to reimburse your expenses, report the matter to us. We will then assess whether you are eligible for compensation through your cancellation insurance.
Yes, travel insurance also covers skiing vacations. When you take out travel insurance with us, you are covered for all trips abroad all year round. This includes both relaxing beach vacations and active holidays such as ski trips in snowy surroundings.
Travel insurance does not cover vacations and travel in Denmark. Instead, you are covered by your regular insurance policies, such as: Home insurance: Covers damage such as fire, water and theft damage to your belongings. Liability insurance: Covers if you cause damage to other people or their property. Free online medical assistance: Included in your home insurance, so you can get medical assistance in the evenings and on weekends. Yellow health insurance card: Gives you access to medical care as normal in Denmark. Roadside assistance: If you've added roadside assistance to your car insurance, you can get help around the clock.
It's often a good idea to investigate any coverage via your MasterCard from the bank before you choose to take out travel insurance with us, as otherwise people often end up being double insured, which makes no sense. Basically, you're covered with travel insurance on Mastercard if you have either Gold, Platinum or World Elite. If in doubt, you can always contact your bank to find out more about your coverage.
