What does Accident insurance cover?
Accident insurance gives you extra peace of mind in the event of an accident. You can tailor your insurance to suit your lifestyle with a range of flexible optional covers.
The amount determines the amount of compensation if your child suffers a permanent disability of at least 5% as a result of an accident. Child accident insurance takes effect at a degree of disability from 5%. For example, a 15% permanent disability with a disability sum of DKK 1,000,000 will trigger compensation of DKK 150,000.
The size of your compensation is determined by the chosen disability sum, and we will help you find the sum that best suits you in your particular situation.
Covers necessary and reasonable expenses for treatment and rehabilitation following a covered claim on the insurance by:
- Physiotherapist
- Chiropractor
- Reflexologist
- Acupuncturist
The insurance covers the treatments until the condition is considered stable by the physician, but no longer than until the degree of disability is determined, and never longer than one year after the date of the accident.
Covers necessary and reasonable dental expenses. The insurance comes into effect if, for example, you lose or damage a tooth as a result of a covered accident.
Chewing Injury covers up to 50% of dental expenses for a covered injury.
Pays double compensation if your permanent injury is determined to be 30% or higher.
For example:
- 40% permanent disability with a compensation sum of DKK 1,000,000 would give DKK 400,000 normally.
- With double damages, you get DKK 800,000 in compensation instead.
Punitive damages act as a financial support that is paid out in the event of an injury incident - as a quick relief in a difficult situation.
Your child can receive immediate compensation of DKK 15,000 if they have suffered a covered injury that includes:
- Bone fractures
- Total tear of the Achilles tendon or collateral ligament
- Partial or total tear of the cruciate ligament
Compensation is paid regardless of whether you suffer permanent injury. You can only receive one immediate compensation payment per limb per year.

Accident Insurance.
An accident is an unexpected event that results in a personal injury. For example, you may fall on the stairs and break a leg. Subsequently, you may need treatment or rehabilitation, which your accident insurance can cover. In the event of permanent injury, you may also be able to receive compensation.
Taking out accident insurance is often a wise decision as it gives you financial security if you have an accident. It covers treatment, compensation for permanent injuries and helps secure your finances in the event of an accident.
One of the most central concepts in accident insurance is permanent disability. Permanent impairment is the discomfort you experience in everyday life that does not disappear after treatment. To be eligible for accident insurance compensation, you must have a permanent injury of at least 5%. After an accident, it is a specialist doctor's overall assessment that determines the degree of permanent disability. The specific degree of permanent disability and the disability sum selected on the policy determine how much compensation you receive after a covered accident.
After a covered injury, accident insurance allows you to receive treatment from, for example
- Physiotherapist
- Chiropractor
- Osteopath
- Reflexologist
- Acupuncturist (After medical assessment)
Your accident insurance covers you all over the world, no matter where you are (up to a maximum of 2 years for travel and stays outside Denmark). Accident insurance covers you 24 hours a day, as we only advise you to take out full-time accident insurance.
Full-time accident insurance covers compensation for permanent injury 24 hours a day, and therefore also covers workplace injuries. With accident insurance, you can easily be doubly insured, and the compensation would supplement any occupational injury insurance provided by the employer. If you work more than 25 hours a week, you can alternatively choose to take out leisure accident insurance that covers you outside working hours.
